Pain Management
Review Your Diagnostics
Step 02 of your care pathway. A close, data-led read of your objective medical information, to identify exactly what is driving the pain physiologically and anatomically.
What does Ivy en Rose do for Review Your Diagnostics?
At Ivy en Rose, reviewing your diagnostics is Step 02 of the pain management pathway, following straight on from the consultation. Dr. Andrew Vargas, MD works through your objective medical data in detail, looking for the specific physiological and anatomical drivers behind your musculoskeletal pain.
Two Core Areas of Diagnostic Review
The review covers two areas, so we can connect what is structurally damaged with what your body chemistry is doing:
1. Analysis of Precision Advanced Imaging
Rather than relying on examination alone, Dr. Vargas reads your structural diagnostics to see what state your bones, joints, ligaments, and cartilage are actually in. Where relevant, that may involve:
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRIs)
Looking for soft tissue damage: a herniated disc in the lower back, say, or a torn ligament such as the ACL, or meniscal cartilage in the knee.
X-rays
Looking for bone-on-bone contact, skeletal misalignment, and the structural degeneration that comes with advanced osteoarthritis.
2. Evaluation of Systemic & Metabolic Biomarkers
This is where our approach differs. We do not stop at the painful joint: we read full laboratory blood panels to find internal factors that may be worsening your pain or holding back your body's own repair. That includes:
Inflammatory Burden
Tracking systemic inflammatory markers, which can make pain flare or settle into something chronic.
Metabolic & Micronutrient Levels
Assessing metabolic health and any vitamin deficiencies affecting tissue regeneration and muscle recovery.
Why This Step Matters in the Pathway
The point of this stage is precision later. Cross-referencing your imaging against your lab data keeps treatment away from one-size-fits-all options. It is also the groundwork for Step 03, discussing your treatment options, and prepares you safely for Step 04, targeted PRP injections.
If you would like your files looked at, tell us. Do you already have recent imaging, an MRI or X-ray, ready to go? Is there a particular joint, a knee or a lower back, you want Dr. Vargas to examine? We can send you a checklist of exactly which records and lab results to gather beforehand.
Have your diagnostics professionally reviewed
Bring your imaging and lab results in and we will go through them properly. Dr. Vargas cross-references the structural picture against the biological one, and that becomes the foundation of a targeted, non-surgical recovery plan.
